  • Hydroracer policies ???

Hydroracer Administrators, I would like to know what your policies are regarding Threads and Comments. I can't really figure it out what you can say or can't say on here, But what I have figured out is that if it's something that YOU (administrators) don't like or agree with then it gets LOCKED and or DELETED. Could you clarify the proper etiquette (politics) that can be used on here....(Referring to a thread that was started by Racerkyle20 on 1/25/13 about a discussion about the Tohatsu in the 750 mod class)

I have a policy of let it run it's course, Mike perhaps not so much. Sometimes the original poster removes a thread and there are moderators in some forums for example Jeff Brewster in the SORC that also has the ability to remove threads.

Usually there has to be a good argument for me to agree to delete a thread. Or a request from someone with intimate knowledge of the thread causing damage to topic being discussed. It doesn't happen very often. Threads pertaining to politics (not boat racing politics) will always be deleted as this is a boat racing forum.

Mike locked that thread and the I did delete that one at the request of the committee working on the Tohatsu in the 750 mod class as the details have not been worked out and they felt it was detrimental to the forward progress of getting that done. The thread which started out positive was quickly trending negative before the ink had been applied to the "deal". Seems fair to let them pen the rules before we start on about how it is a bad idea. A similar thing was done with the USTS/NBRA thread at the request of the presidents from both organizations until details were worked out.

    Hope that helps you Cynthia.

    Teresa

On this statement you couldnt be more wrong, our feelings or opinions usually have nothing to do with threads being closed or deleted.

I have to say I like nothing more than watching the controversy. Remember I don't race boats!
