Order of Finish, pending inspection and what not:
FIRST and UIM World Champion - 5 - Graham Trucking - Jimmy Shane
SECOND - 6 - Oh Boy! Oberto - Steve David
THIRD - 9 - Jones Racing - Jon Zimmerman
FOURTH - 88 - Snoqualmie Casino - Brian Perkins
FIFTH - 11 - Miss Peters & May - Tommy Thompson
DISQ - 37 - Miss Beacon Plumbing - J. Michael Kelly - He did not move out of lane 1 fast enough as directed by race officials where he was "parked" as the trailer boat prior to the 1 minute gun. This forced Jimmy Shane, a front row starter, to lane 2 and forced others farther outside.
7:45 All boats on the course. One minute to the start. J Michael Kelly has been disqualified, prior to the start.
7:36 AM Update - Five minute countdown to the five minute gun has started. Race to start in 10 minutes, at 7:46 AM Eastern Standard Time.
7:30 AM Update - One more boat to launch. They will start the five minute countdown to the five minute gun as soon as the last boat touches the water.
7:19 AM Update - Still waiting for two boats to go in the water. Almost tipped a crane over. May stop the countdown -- start will be delayed until after 7:30 AM Eastern Standard Time.
7:16 AM Update - You can hear radio chatter in the background while the announcer is speaking. Unlikely to make a 7:30 AM start. Cranes are slow. Water depth in the pit area a problem.
7:14 AM Update - Boats are on cranes but holding in place over the water.
7:00 AM Update - On delay, waiting for the tide to come in. Six more inches is needed [that's what she said] to begin racing. Still waiting for the 15 minute mark for the race to begin. Start now scheduled for 7:30 AM Eastern Standard Time.
Because H1 awards points for qualifying heats, 6 - Oh Boy! Oberto - Steve David has already clinched the High Point Championship for the H1 2012 season, of which Doha is the final race.
The H1 Unlimited winner-take-all final is scheduled for Saturday, January 12 at 3:00 PM Doha Time, which is 7:00 AM Eastern Standard Time, subject to change due to wind conditions.
