Remarks from Sidewinder enthusiasts lead inevitably to the approval of the Arens 250 as an A stock engine,
Granted it is designed to be faster than the sidewinder but the sidewinder is designed to be faster than the OMC. The Arens is 60% more expensive than the Sidewinder, but the Siewinder is 100% more than an OMC.
While the Arens is not made by a compant offering a line of pleasure engines , neither is the Sidewinder.
Approving the Arens would solve the OMC problem ( too old, pact with devil needed to go fast, not made by a someone who is just doing us a favour ) really quickly .
