  • 8 Reasons I vote For Parity

These are the 8 reasons I vote for Parity.

    1. It is not Fair that someone is faster than me.

    2. I should reap the benefits of the hard work of my competitors.

    3. I am not concerned about the current engine manufactures, we just need to keep our antiques alive.

    4. Why should an individual be able to manufacture a racing engine and make money off of us.

    5. We need to redistribute the speed of the winners to the losers.

    6. It is not fair that some race teams have a higher disposable income than others.

    7. I think that it is easier to complain about going slow rather than working hard to go fast.

    8. Everyone should be a Winner

      Why I vote for parity...

Tongue in cheek humor. I think once Pat realizes this, he will understand the post and agree with it as much as me.

            motor

nobody could ever make money manufacturig an engine. not enough people to sell to. for any profit you would need to sell hundreds of engines.

I know Ron pretty well and have been friends with him for years. He went into this venture full knowing it wasnt a money making one. At best he may break even but that yet to be seen. Thats not counting the test time that others have put into the project for free. How can you fight someone that is doing us a favor by making new engines over a hand full of other people and it is just a handful.

Mark just how close do you think you can two different motors or just how close do you think you can get two of the same motors

                          Parity.

George. I really don't know the answer to that one. I would suspect it would be difficult with most motors. I've heard, years ago, that to get one good 25ss, you might have to go through ten of them. I'm sure you know better than me.
When I first got my 302, I can remember Rich Runne saying that pretty much all the 302's run similarly. I'm inclined to believe that as I do nothing to mine and it seems to hold its own. The Northwest guys 'do' seem to have a knack for getting the best out of them, however.
I was wondering if both of your Sidewinders run the same, or do you choose the same one everytime?
I am still trying to gain an informed opinion on parity, am reading as much as I can. I think I favor the new guy/gal being able get a motor and not having to have the lineage that most current racers have....meaning not second, third or fourth generation, to be competitive.
Yes, our current racers are important. I just think that the racers we don't know yet are important too.
BTW are you done with boat number seven yet? Ha Ha.

Mark both my Sidewinders are within a mile of each other and after I tweaked the adjustments on Gary Ponds Sidewinder it also is within a mile an hour of both mine. When mine was inspected at the Nationals all the measurements were identical to the one Tony ran and that one was the very first A motor sold and mine was one of the newest. With every motor being that close in machine work they all should be very close in speed. Oh I been sick for two weeks so Im still on the second boat....lol
