  • Didn't they just leave the meeting with no changes? We have had parity committees for years. Give them a break and let’s see what happens.

Or maybe I missed something and something was changed?

    • Did you really just compare Racing Outboards to Boeing! WOW! The only R&D this sport can afford is to do what was done with the SW. I do believe that most of the large corporate motor companies that were introduced to this sport went through some trial and error also.

      • Paul the reason why the Sidewinder is in A is because that is the only replacement for the 30 yr old OMC. You want data go look at Smielys points and my points for last year and that will show how Sidewinder compared to the good OMC and two of my wins were because most of the field jumped the gun in one heat and the other the first place boat got tossed for being 3 pounds light which was OMC powered

            • Actually it was Max with one of the OMC's he has on here for sale that won.

              • One of the downsides of forums is miscommunication and spin. Comparisons to Boeing is emphasizing the wish they both are successful, which does not depend on size. My understanding was there was little or no data used when the SW was approved. Correct it if that information is wrong. Start simple and inexpensive, dyno the motor. To say that won't tell us something is confusing at best.

What did George do when he first bought his motors? He took them apart to make sure they are right. Next step, put them on a dyno to see how they perform. Yes, you can learn much by hanging it on your boat and testing, yet then there are all the other variables besides motor that make it more complex than scientific.

                • Paul I dont know which George you are talking about but if its me the first time my motor was apart was at Grass Lake in inspection. These are not fishing motors that have to be blue printed or the clearances loosen up these are made for racing race motors that all that has been done at Racing Outboards. The only thing I did was the fine tuning of the motor with timing and carb jetting. As far as being put on a dyno that is misinformation also the only dyno my motors have been on is the back of the boat with the right prop and a GPS and tach that says its going fast and that is the bottom line. I have yet to see a motor pushing a dyno around the race course and that my friend is where it all counts how fast it the boat runs in a race.

                  • Pittman, I do apologize for flexing digital muscles. I sounded like an ass. I have personal connection to Racing Outboards and hold everyone involved in high regard, ESPECIALLY considering what they've achieved under the circumstance.

                    • Sorry but another anomaly that bothers me. Talk has been of going through 10 OMC A's to find a good one at enormous expense. Now it's blueprintinting and loosing the engine up- just like we did in the 60's.

What is the reality of the OMC super engine?

                      • History questions.
                        Was there a Parity Committee
                        1. when the kg-7 was replaced by the 20H?
                        2. When the Hotrod cleaned the 20H clock?
                        3. When the 20H had the the kit and made anchors out of the HotRod?
                        4. When the Y80 replaced the 20H?
                        5. When the 30H replaced the old iron opposed twin?
                        6. When the 102 replaced the 30H?
                        7. When the 55H replaced the KG9?
                        8. When the 44s replaced the 55H?
                        9. When the OMC 15 replaced the KG-4?
Today's Parity Committees have not solved anything.

                        • Racing outboards is not giving up on the 15H B motor. RO did not propose moving the 20ci to the B class. I was there and I'm still not sure where this came from. In my opinion the SORC made a mistake on this one. Lets get ready to rummblllllle time to prep for next year! see you on the water..
