    The Indy 500 1952

I have only been to one Indy 500 and that was in 1952. While we were in Indiana for the 500, my mom, dad, Orlando Torraganti, and I drove to Muncie, Indiana to see Paul Wearly. I was 8, but I was so impressed with the Wearly Boat Shop as it ha Racing Boats in the Show Room. Paul's family made tombstones I was told, but the boat shop seems much better.

I never saw Paul again, I did meet John Wearly in California a couple of times...

The name Paul Weaely always brought a silence to our family as he was always bigger than life to my dad and brother..

    Rest in peace....tombstone maker!!!1

      My Dad's stories......

Back in the day, my grand dad had a racing shop on Lake George in Northwestern Indiana and my Dad, Uncle Bob Bradley, Danny Maholla, and my Aunt Pat were his drivers. Dad had a lot of stories about Paul. Included with the racing stories of he and Paul dicing it out, were recollections of what a great guy Paul was. Never heard a bad word from anybody about him. Wish I could have met him before he passed. Another great racer to Lake Paradise...............Rest in Peace Paul Wearly
