So, in your experience, most boat shops can give anyone good info about racing?

I would like to hear from people in other regions

In my case I only mentioned 2 shops (not most) and they were racers so advice was well founded and used and helped alot. Should have also mentioned I also received great advice from Mark and Ed Hauptner when they were actively racing their tunnels. At the time Mark was operating Brown & Hauptner Marine in West Palm Beach.

Chris Carson's Marine isn't your average marina. They specialize in high performance engine outboards (mainly larger stuff but he is very knowledgeable) He doesn't normally work on fishing boats etc...unless you want it to go fast! Alot of places you go to mainly dealership/marina's are not too knowledgeable about racing... some are some are not. But he can defiantly give good advice, thats why i believed him enough about the motor. Theres a few other places in Ontario that have good advice not so much about the racing aspect but more so in terms of motor work

Racing has all but dried up in my area decades ago. The nice folks at the boat shops in my area have no connection or knowledge of boat racing.
