We used that once when we were testing and it was 22F outside. Engine wouldn't run well because of carb ice. We hooked that up and gained a few miles an hour. I think the case has to be about that extreme before there's any reason to use it.
It was thirty years and a few months ago that I bought a Yamato 80 from Harry Pasterzak. He explained that water system to me before I took the engine home. I never had a reason to use it.
