    members vs entries

We should focus on reducing the number of classes that so entries equals members.

The very best ROI for APBA is one rig for one driver and multiple races or multiple heat formats that allow drivers to get the biggest bang for the buck.

      Good morning Hydro Racer members,

Just keep on insulting APBA and its local clubs. Keep bragging that the NBRA does this and does that, and the other does not. Keep claiming that NBRA has this, and the other association does not, because of lack of effort or stupidity. Again, a useless post that gives no specific suggestions on what to actually do, or what the other association "specifically did" that has been successful. Members on these boards might want to be helping each other IMO, since this struggling sport will be affected by whatever APBA or NBRA does, or doesn't do. Based on the latest posts on this site, I can think of one way the SORC can save $250 a year in useless advertising.

P.S. This post is NOT aimed at Art personally, just the negativity that spews from this site sometimes.

You wanted to join the NBRA with the APBA recently at Lucas Oil Speedway. That is not the kind of growth the NBRA wants to see, and i am sure the APBA does not want it either. In fact, after talking to some key APBA folks at a local race, it was brought to my attention that someone who will remain un-named told this staff member to poach our sponsors. I think that is dirty for the sport, and creates that negative press you speak of. Come and enjoy an NBRA race sometime, I think you will be suprised at what you see. You can't judge until you get involved......

What is different ? Look at the posts in the past, we have explained ourselves many times to everyone here. It is not our fault we have a package that sponosrs like, and we can sell. Less classes, more boats on the water, less rules to piss people off, and we are geared towards making it fair for all, in short, for the racer. We give back to the racer at each race. Tow money pays the bills for the racer. Entry fees are less, so a racer can sign up for more classes if they want to. You can race two or three classes at an NBRA race to one at an APBA race. I don't know how else to explain it Jeff. We do things different, we have some people who don't take no for an answer, we go beyond the status quo and get it done. Why do these people do this ? My first guess is becasue it is a fun sport and an expensive one. We manage the costs to keep it affordable for the average racer, not the big time racers. Grass roots sums it up well. We went back to what we know best and did not create more classes, apply more rules, and put rules in place to keep it affordable. A person who races on a budget of lets say less than $500 a race can win just as easy as a racer who has a budget of lets say $5000 per race. Income levels don't mean squat in the NBRA. They get the same tow money as anyone else in the organization.

Not a neagitve ad towards APBA here, but when is the last time you went to a kneel down race and received $500.00 for tow money ? I am curious if it has ever happened in the last 5 years at a mod & or stock race ?

I think I can this, NBRA is NOT out to destroy the APBA. We are not out to steal members away either. We are about providing a venue that creates sustainable growth, and promotes healthy, fun racing for everyone. APBA can do what they want, when they want, it has no affect on our bearing, or our business models. Nay-sayers are only nay-sayers becasue they see us as a threat. We are not a threat. We are the NBRA. We don't want you to pick a side.

Very nice Dave...I would like to add that if you dont like what is said on this site then don't pull it up on your computer..It is very simple this is a discussion site and their fore you will not agree with everyones opinion..

If folks move over to NBRA it was by their own choice..NBRA does not go out looking for members but rather welcome folks interested in easy to understand racing with a lot of fun and simple rules..

Plus if you attend a race it is nice to actually recieve money, usually enough to cover your entrie fees and some of your gas expense..

It all depends on what a person is looking for..I guess it comes down to fun or status
