  • To all referees and risk managers,

To all Referees and Risk Managers,

As the 2012 racing season draws to an end, I wanted to thank all of you on behalf of all your fellow racers for giving so much of yourselves that others could race. You took the time to take the required tests, printed out the necessary rulebooks, and worked at every event so that others could compete. Any many days it was a thankless job. Why did you do it? It can't be for the money, because there isn't much beyond your expenses and sometimes there isn't even that. And I know it isn't for the snappy shirts you get to wear - although I do think we all look more professional when we wear them. I think you do it for the love of the sport and of that there is an abundance. Your dedication is something to be proud of and I applaud you for it. Thank you. And I hope once you've had a chance to relax over the winter, you'll be ready to do it all over again.

        Thank You

I always try to remember to thank all the people working at the races personally. I really am thankful they are johnny on the spot doing this. I don't mind doing flags or the clock but the old back just doesn't bend into a turn boat very well anymore. When I get out I can barely stand it to straighten up. It's what happens to SOME of us older gentlemen even tho none will admit to it. I also never complain in front of my wife about aches and pains because she'll just say I told you so and tell Im to old to be acting like a kid. Anyways a long winded THANK YOU to all who do the work.

            Multi Mega Dittos

Many, many, many thanks to referees, risk managers, SCORING CREWS, inspectors, race directors, and the many nameless volunteers who work before, during, and after the races to allow us to have our few minutes of fun and thrills.

One of the best ways we can say thank you is to be ready to step and be the first to volunteer when asked to help in whatever ways we can.

Mary, thanks for all you do, and for being APBA’s Chief Referee.

You and Jeff are very special people.

And to all our other volunteers, thank you very much for your dedication and volunteering to make this sport happen for all of us.
