Need boat repair/refinishing advice

I have a 4 yr old MJR design CSH (built by someone in Ohio I think) that needs a small patch on the deck, approximately 5" x 20". I am assuming the deck is either 3ml of 4ml Okoume but I can only find 5.2 ml here locally in Ft. Worth, TX. I have found 3ml Birch or Maple but not sure how well that will work.

Any recommendations?

Dave boats are more important than dang Duck hunting!!!!!

duck hunters

Duck hunters are some of the toughest people I know...Very cold, often in boats, way before the sun is seen. Boat racers are tough too, but not as tough as Duck hunters.
