This is a multi use boat - it originally is built similar to Bob Wartinger's Kilo boat (thus the name - he has almost all of the hydro Yamato kilo records) but with the twist and design alterations, the main use for this boat is for the 1 2/3 and 1.25 mile record runs (mile might be slightly too small). I also designed a bolt-on insert for the bottom that makes the boat a legal runabout which creates a complete new set of variables.

I'll be taking the rig to the time trials in California this upcoming weekend, so I'll be sure to post pictures of her fully rigged and going fast!

      • Record Boat

Since it is a hydro, and you are going to run it in an oval record run, how the heck is it going to do with 8 or 9 boats out there ? The oval records are competition records, right ? It will be interesting to hear how many boats you are racing against if a record is set. Good luck, it looks like a fun project for sure ! I will say, after following these threads for a a while, you do put out innovation, and that is healthy.

Yes, it's designed specifically for Top-O rough water. For marathon, both tanks will be filled. For short course, only the port tank will be filled. It will run DSR, 850ccMR, 1100ccR (two person).

Was thinking that too but I've never driven a marathon. Pictures of Top-O probably don't explain the ruff stuff but I'm sure it is.
