New Tohatsu D boat
I really like the boat I built over winter on short courses....1/2 mile-3/4 mile stuff....but I run out of boat real quick on anything over 3/4 mile. I am going to loft up plans for an expanded and lighter version of current boat as soon as I get back from Hawaii in late October. Boat should be ready to test end of march...will be built out of honeycomb, carbon fiber, okume, and spruce. 9USComment

I didn't build this but I just got it a couple of weeks ago. It has never been on the water. I painted it, installed enough hardware to run it, better stuff is coming. It is a marathon boat, Darrell's latest design. I am hoping to go to Top O' next year. It runs very nicely. More importantly it turns well, unlike my old one, maybe I won't bounce off any more channel markers or run over any more snags.

Karl, as soon as I saw it I said "now this is a marathon boat"
. If possible please keep me in the loop on how it performs. I'm looking at all options for a new / newer CSR marathon boat.

I was cruising around the West System web site and ran across this interesting scarffing devise. I found a You Tube vid of a similar one and they see to work pretty good. Just wondering how all you experts scarff your joints.
