            • Second boat sealed with epoxy now to sand them both and off to unlimited auto body for some rad paint jobs. Will see what happens at the Nation meeting as to weather these will be for sale a long with the rest of my stuff.

              • George I like the bullet heater..I use one too but it does not do much in a 36x48 shop unless it is blowing right on me.. Hopefully most of the really cold days are almost gone!! We can hope!!

                • My shop is 24 by 24 but has a 12 foot ceiling I have a ceiling fan that blows the warm air back down. The bullet heater is one of the bigger ones and keeps it warm while Im working but I shut it off at night. They did pass a new pickle fork rule and is effect right now, you have to have a two inch radius on them now which is hard to get on the smaller A and B boats I had to cut an inch and a half off these to get it.

                    Really????.................Let's just out-law pickles all-together and go back to 1960 shovel fronts???.......with 1973 Dodge Dart rubber bumper-ets??
                    That's it......Not hack'n 1 1/2"s off my rigs!!

What if ya just FILL the area between the pickles like Sutherland's 12M/40M rigs??.........Or a wrap around, crushable piece of 1x1 trim?......Or a 2x2" between the tips?

So much for the Winter Nats!......Or will there be a hack-saw, spray-foam+duct-tape party in da pits Thurs?.........Would that even be legal? (I'm NOT a wood-werk'r or live near one!).....When I break a rig it's 3-4 months till fix'd.

Are ANY of the NEW rigs in pics on this page(Or the entire thread) legal?....

OK.....Time to step away from the computer........IRISH COFFEE TIME!

                        • Mine are Hemps A Stock. Mike I got the word over the phone from the National meeting that they changed the rule from a one inch radius to a two inch radius on all stock boats effective right away.. The J division did the same except its only for new boats being built and not the older boats. The Mods have had the two inch radius for a few years now on boats built after 2007 I think. I guess older boats with pointed pickles dont hurt as much as new boats do...lol

Thats a good one George.. The wife and I did some measuring and a 30oz pumkin pie filling can is exactly 4" across so it works great for checking the radius.. All of my boats pass so I can be good with it

                            • What??? Pro/Mod was 1 in Radius which is 2 inch diameter. Stock was 1/2 Radius which is a 1 inch diameter. Are you saying the SORC went to a 4 inch diameter? That is CRAZY!!!!!

                              • Radius v. Diameter

I concur with Bill's query.. radius v. diameter definition. As mathematically a radius is length from center of a circle to its edge, a 2 inch radius is 4 inches across (or diameter) - current stock requirement is 1 inch mathematical diameter and 3/4 thickness... need to see in writing/diagram what actual specs are required (and if there is any grandfather clause for older boats). Thank goodness I haven't started my new boat yet due to cold snap here in WA...
                                Confusing.
