Beautiful place to race and, I guess, a real wake up if you fall in the water!! Good luck to everyone up there and have a great time!

Any news? At kart race with youngest son and Jon has no phone service up there. Not knowing is killing me. Need to know how we stack up against Mason and the big boys in FE

I will say that Jon Peterson was right in the ball park with his boat but the masons broke a shaft and failed to start once and Jon did not race Sunday.. The first heat he had covered untill Rick Keller flew about 40 feet without his boat..It was awsome but the boat was a total loss..Great sequence pictures are on face book.. Lots of folks are on their way home and will probably post more when the get back east..

sorry but due to mother nature blowing away most of Friday testing the vote was taken to not run straightaways and test in the mornings before the racing.. The other problem was only two folks were interested in running them

Unfortunately there wasn't enough interest in the straighaways to put the equipment in the water. We had one boat in each of just a couple of the classes offered and they decided they would rather have additional testing time than run for records.

Seems that folks don't want other folks to know exactly how fast they are going. I think the only interest was in C Hydro, D Hydro, E Hydro and E Runabout. My memory is toast after the weekend but I think there was one more class but as I said only one boat in each.

We will try again next year, if we can perhaps get some pre-registration commitments to do the record runs.

I will see if I can get to my camera and computer when I get home from my day job and off my volunteer EMS shift and I will post ya'all some pictures! I will try to get the ones off the "big wreck" as well!

Have to say I am tired but it was so great to see some of the folks that we saw in Illinois here in Montana. You all are a great bunch and I will hang with you anytime.

Also have to thank the rest of our club for all the assistance in getting the site set up and torn down. This includes some great family friends who pitch in every year, the Veach's, the Schobers and the Kelley's.

Thanks to the Naughty Pine for the free dinners of Alaskan Beer Battered Cod with all the trimmings on Friday Night, the Naughty Pine again on Saturday for the Beef Brisket or Half Smoked Chicken with all the fixins and the Lakeside Motel and the Trout Creek Community Improvement Association for the Pig Roast and sides on Saturday Night. There was also a Microbrew tasting, live music and dancing.

Rick Keller won the Peoples Choice Award with his Vintage boat the Miss Holeshot R-26 a tribute to the late Terry Fiorelli. He received a beautiful (chainsaw carved) trophy with the boat information burned into it and a $100.00 prize.

The winner of the $50.00 bonus handed out at the drivers meetings was on Saturday, Lyle Mason and on Sunday Josh Harnack.

Each driver present at the awards ceremony received a $10.00 fuel card from either Cenex or Conoco both of which were sponsors of the race.

There was a total of $2500 in tow money awards to those who towed boats to the race.

Additional sponsors include: Thompson River Lumber, Thompson Falls, MT; Schoeber's Towing, St. Regis, MT; Hagedorn Land Surveying, Thompson Falls, MT; RFA Ethanol Fuels; Montana RaceCraft, Thompson Falls, MT; and several private parties.

We are looking forward to doing it even bigger and better next year. For those who like to plan ahead be sure to set the last weekend in August aside for some great friends, great racing and great food in a community who truly wants us to be a part of their summer.

Hey you guys as to the weather! It was beautiful.

The water temperature was about 75 degrees. Daytime temperatures were in the upper 80's. Now we are approaching fall and one did need long pants and a sweatshirt in the mornings it was about 45 degrees according to my outside thermometer. However that is a 40 degree temperature swing and can be a rude awakening.

Trust me Kevin Martin did NOT scrape ice off his hydro! He was just joshing you all.

question has been asked. How many entries did you have at Trout Creek? I am not trying to stir anything up. We had only 41 at Sparks.

Sorry I was in transit between home and work.

There were 52 entries, and to answer the other question there were only 2 from the state of Montana all the rest were from other states. The furthest distance traveled was 1850 miles! Oldest driver was 80 and the youngest 12. We had only 4 CMH.
