  • Maiden voyage next weekend

    Hello All,

Well it just about ready for her maiden voyage next weekend. The paint is now dry and the hardware is going back on. I know it's not going to be an official racing boat, but it will be a lake screamer none the less.

Any advice for a newbie before I let her loose on the water?????

    Thanks
    Bill

First of all, let me say that this boat looks really cool, and I think it's great you took the initiative and time to build it. The Tietze hardware is very nice too; I put his stuff on my son's new ASH I designed and built. Which brings me to my one piece of constructive criticism. It looks like your motor board pads might be installed upside-down. The rounded end should be at the top of the motor board, so the lip will catch the clamp should the engine wiggle loose. Other than that, I say have a great time with this boat, be safe, and let us know how it goes!

      Thanks Michael,

I WELCOME any criticism, ... good or bad.

I will flip them over, the screw holes can stay the same, ...

From start to finish, ... it only took 4 months of some spare time. My first boat build.

      Regards
      Bill

A nice padded floor board will help.

I like it , great job on the build and paint .

Looks like you are running a lot of fin but could just be the angle , I think around 4 inches is good .

Would love to see a video on YouTube of your smile and the first ride Bill !
