    Standings

Does anyone have the current point standings for all who have participated this year?

Also, with the advent of the new 302ssh class, will Novice C still be run in Region 10 in 2013?
    Thanks

      Novice C stuff

Glad to see you guys are ready for this. I am just missing points for a couple races, once I get them I will post standings so far. I also believe that 302 SS will not replace Novice C, at least in the near future, but I may be wrong. I will have more on Novice C soon.

        Trophy

I just saw a picture of the C-Novice Championship trophy, and let me tell you guys, the winner (and their team) is in for quite the treat!

I hopefully have a friend participating in the New Folks in Boats program on Friday and if that happens, Team Penway will definitely put a horse in the C-Novice Race!

          Novice C or C Novice

Thanks for the information. Look forward to seeing the current standings.

I didn't realize the class accumulated championship points as well as received a championship trophy. Since it doesn't look like other regions participate in the class much as yet and since their is a representative from Canada, does that make this a WORLD Championship?

          Have a great day everyone.

                  More BIG Novice C news

This is big guys, and even though it makes me look like a putz, I am still really glad to share it. As you all might or might not know, one of the things that we have really, REALLY been wanting to impliment in this class is a universal prop that would then be randomly drawn like the J class. We thought that we might be able to rework the stock Yamato 2 blades into something that would work for us, but that project has not materialized, and our chances of success have been questioned by a couple people that know something about props. This is the dumb Tony part, apparently when I mentioned this to Rocky, he got hold of Harry Pinner, and 4 identical props were made and sent out. I am hoping Rocky will chime in to let us all know how long my dumb a$$ has let these things sit around, but we will be testing them at Eatonville on Friday! Unfortunately even if they work 4 won't be enough, so we will still end up doing the bring-a-prop draw. If they do work, and I have total faith that they will, then your Novice C Racing Commision (NCRC) will have to come up with a way to buy these from Rocky or Harry, AND get another 6 of them made, sent, and most of all paid for. Since this class has, in the eyes of a lot of people been wildly successful, I also have every reason to believe that coming up with this money won't prove to be a hurtle we can't clear. If any of you have good fundraising ideas (maybe a class sponsorship?) let me know at Eatonville. Tony

Great news Tony.I really think this class has legs and I would definitely be interested in "sponsoring" a prop for next season.Keeping it simple is the formula for sucess in this class and having a set of props to draw does just that.Looking forward to seeing all at Eatonville, JGW 1CW

                      Great info and update

Please send donations to the Smilin George Novice C Prop Scholarship fund.
I wish I could say all donations will be tax deductible and although Novice C is an educational class, I doubt the Government will see it that way.

Heck, if the props run good (and there seems to be no reason they shouldn't) there could be several ways to get them into the draw.

Now I have to go finish putting on the roof

                      Have a great saturday.

Just wanted to say Thanks to Tony, Dave, and Ron!!! for putting this class together this year! I was seriously thinking of calling it quits after last year! I started racing this class to try and find my testies again? And somewhere during the C-Novice race at Everett I found them in my wifes purse!! Seriously If it wasen't for this class I really do think I would have hung up the boat! I have my confidence back and having fun again!!! So Thanks again you guys! Oh yeah, were keeping the trophy in the USA! but I will let you have a swig John Glenn AKA "Dick Steel"

                          Jeez Tiny

You're making me get all misty eyed here. You know if you were in trouble, you know, feeling down, you could have come to any of us and could have hugged it out, maybe shed a few tears together..................

And THEN told you where your nards were, man that would have been so much easier. That's the first place us married guys look

Seriously bro, glad you're back, and glad that class helped.

                            novice c

Whoever wins this thing gets to go out in my ski boat with the American flag waving and holding the trophy around the course. If Wasenko wins it we will find a North American flag. Dave

.....I...I mean tinyavenger, I'm truly sorry your nards went AWOL and equally happy you have found them. Your driving as late clearly indicates you have re-kindled a relationship with them....kinda like riding a bike I'd imagine. Keeping a firm grip on the task at hand should minimize the chances of losing your nards again. You have excellent odds in becoming the first Novice C World Champion. If you achieve this unprecedented achievement, I would donate a wheelbarrow to pack your new nards.

Enough seriousness, I think spec props would be an improvement, maybe let us run our own prop one heat now and again to see have we stack up. Couple of ideas to pay for the props. Participants could pay an additional event fee to run the class, or pay a yearly club fee until the props were paid for. Or better yet, since Novice C seems to have a "Novelty" spectator interest component, in the spirit of Pari-Mutuel, put odds on us and place bets. Divvy up the proceeds to the club and winning better.
