KG7 steering bar

I would like to run remote steering on a '47 Feathercraft Deluxe Runabout
powered by a (supposedly) KG7Q; at least that's what the mfg's tag says.

The problem is it's on a fishing leg & there are no holes to mount the bar to.

Has anyone ever tried to mount a steering bar to a kg7 fishing leg or is there another way to steer it?
