Brian, so sorry to here of your Mom's passing. I always looked forward to Huntington for many reasons, but rest assured one of the bigger ones was to see your Mom and how excited she got with you on the water. I send this along as it helped me when my parents left this earth a few years ago. it helped very much.

Imagine standing on a hill overlooking the harbor, with a great sailing ship being loaded at the dock. It is a beautiful ship, the wood looks shiny and bright in the sun, and it welcomes it's cargo, a little ding here and there, but a little helping of blessings here, a little trouble there, laughter and tears are loaded up and ready to go. a little chip in the wood, but carefully taken care of and given character to this great ship.

The ship begins to set lower into the sea as the cargo has finally been loaded and she is ready to set sail. The lines of life are heaved on to the dock and this beautiful ship begins to bob away from the dock. Her sails are majestic, the white of the cloth set against the deep blue of the water. The ship begins to pull away from the safety of the harbor, ready to take on the rigors of the voyage. The ship is gleaming, it is beautiful, as it now in full sail, the wind filling each with the winds of life, each taking the winds energy and sending the ship out to sea.

As it leaves the safety of the harbor, my mind sees the wonders of this ship with it's precious cargo of life's goodness, it's cruelty, it's ability to surprise, and it's ability to bring joy. As it moves further away toward the horizon, I squint to see it's sails, knowing that the ship is getting further and further away. Finally with sadness, I see it slip over the horizon and it is gone. Gone? Gone where? Are it's sails still full, are the decks and rails of wood, not still beautiful? Is the cargo still not in place, YES it is! I could cry out there she goes, while those on the otherside, cry out, here she comes!!! With great joy and anticipation she is welcomed into the safe harbor on the other side, as she prepares for the day with joy we will celebrate together, welcomed by those who came before her, but with joy and open arms she is welcomed into eternal life.

May your sadness turn to smiles as you think of the joy she brought in your life

We will have a viewing and short funeral this Saturday at 2pm in Kalamazoo. Service will be around 3:30-4:00. As soon as I get the directions and more info I will post it.

Thank you all for your support. I know most of you will or are at the nationals, and that is the way Mamma C would have wanted it. She attended her last race without me. She loved racing and racing was family.

For those of you who don't know she met her husband on the judges stand. My dad John Cafarelli was making moves on Nancy (Worley) by working the judges stand a lot! Nancy's dad Lee Worley did not like working the stand, but had to keep an eye on John! This did not work. Thanks for the hard work Dad.

                              So Sorry

                              Brian,

It is with a very heavy heart that I post this. Mamma C was a fixture at the IOA races. I so very much looked forward to her hugs and smiles. She made the weekend complete. She was loved very much, and she will be missed so very much. I am at a loss for any more words.

May Mamma C and your Dad meet up at Lake Paradise and forever be togther.

Brian, if you need anything, I mean ANYTHING please let me know. You know I am only 20 minutes away. Everytime I passed the house while on 131 I thought of her.
