I am not sure we will ever be able to schedule the AOF club, NBRA club and the APBA club races to not conflict unless you all come back to APBA and we all sit down and figure out this kneel down thing and the best way to promote the sport.

    seems so simple.....

The big problem with this idea is a lot of the smaller clubs cannot afford the insurance and sanction fees of APBA and do not have the turn out of boats to support such fees..I say you would all have to switch to NBRA or offer three tiers of insurance avaliable for races..One like APBA for the premium insurance plan and NBRA for the gold plan and so on.. Then the clubs can decide what works for them but we all know there are reasons that will never heal that caused the groups to splinter anyway in the first place..

Art, as lOng as you can avoid the "established" dates for major APBA races you will probably receive some amazing support. If you can avoid 1n
ationals, 2divisionals, 3 race dates that require 3 to 5 weekends in a row.we all have to work with the governing body that controls the water we race on for race dates. So I guess I'm saying the early bird does not always get the worm. How well this race will be attended depends on conditions that o one has full controll over.

Maybe the best thing is that all kneel downs leave apba and we all burn the rule books and start over!!

I know and you know that were never going to get driver supportfrom APBA. All you guys are ever do is whine and cry about how your treated by APBA. The APBA culture is to ingrained for it to ever change. Let me ask when is the last time any of you asked for money to pay for a race? How about tow money & prize money? Does anyone care if you have spectators or fans. The last 2 APBA races me and Keith went to maybe their was a 100. Like it or not with this type of model you cannot succeed. NBRA is going to grow because we have people that are dedicated and have vision.

Art, why so bitter? Sounds like you guys had a good time at Lucas Oil, but I cannot understand why the hostile APBA BS? Who cares which membership you buy..... Bottom line People will make the races that fit their schedule and budget. Bashing and name calling won't get you more racers.

Now Art be nice. I know there were people planning on coming to Lucas that could not make it. I was surprised that not one outside trailer was there. I too think that we can get too big and cause problems. The more people you have the more opinions you get..
The NBRA is a close group that has been racing together for a long time. We all have a good time, easy going, and I can't think of 2 people that don't get along. It is just a real fun group of people and I would like for it to stay that way. So if this sounds like a group you would fit in with, give us a try.

I hate to read on HR people bashing each other, it does no good for anybody!!

Spot on Kevin, if the NBRA consist of only 12 of the fastest boats in the country then so be it. You guys don't need the political BS and infighting that goes along with becoming too big. Keep your show exactly like it is now and don't change a thing to cater to anyone. Don't add classes or drop classes, prospective drivers can either adapt to your current program or take a hike.

You guys have a great thing going don't ruin it keep doing what you are doing. The program at Lucas will gain support over the years and become bigger and better every year. Always remember it is quality and impact not quantity.

Bravo guys great job, HydroRacer TV/Live as got your back!

Bring the noise, bring the show. Put on a high quality professional show back and repeat!

Kevin is right, I don't want OUR guys bashing each other on the Internet. We show up, race our asses off then we shake hands. (this is the part most of you won't understand) then we GO TO THE PAY WINDOW, and enjoy what the 10% have provided us. If that sounds like something you might like, come on down, we don't bite. we welcome the competition, just leave your lawyers out of the drivers meetings and bring your "A" game. BT

Seriously wish I could have made it. I seriously set on the edge of my seat all weekend waiting for updates. Haha. Had I of been able to get a hold of my Uncle the week prior to the race. I too would have been there. But at least he was there. So I very much do apologize for personally not being there. I truely wanted to be.

As far as the whole Group Vs. Group thing... I hold pride in the fact that when you go to my trophy shelves, we have awards from EVERY sanctioning body. AOF, NBRA, and APBA.

I am a boat racer. I just want to run laps wherever I am able. And negativity toward ANY group of racers is not going to help me be able to do that. So EVERYone needs to cool it a bit.

Ill be at ANY race I am ABLE to make. Hopefully Centralia next for me. You all know how I roll... Will probably end up in every class on the schedule if I can be there. (I even end up racing at races when I just show up as pit help haha.)

My dream is to one day be in literally EVERY heat raced. Just to say that I have done it. I've been close... But haven't done it yet. I need to accomplish this while I am young. Lol.

                        Lucas

This thread is getting off track. No bashing allowed. That said a lot of the things that my dad said are true. I posted this thread to find out why so many drivers who say they want the sport to grow would not take the opportunity to participate in a race that could mean a lot to the future of our sport. I too hope NBRA doesn't grow too big and inherit the same problems that some other organizations have. I will no longer worry about who is and isn't going to show up and keep doing what I have been doing to help the sport grow.

                          GREAT JOB on race

I would have loved to come to the Lucas race but with it being around the 4th of July and the distance it was impossible this year. Had family and kids from out of town visiting us. Plus we have a discrepancy in our rules for ER weights.

NBRA and the Lucas race most probably will have to grow on its own merits. I for one don`t believe that we will ever get other than minor support From APBA drivers. And those were simple questions I asked. And statements I truly believe. Like it or not.

                                Little help?

Forgive me if this appeared somewhere else; I did do some digging on older threads throughout HR.net, but admittedly not much.

Can someone please post the coordinates/address/location of this place? The best I can deduce is it is in central North Carolina(?) Is the the Lake Lucas everyone is talking about here?

                                Thanks!
