Thats what I am hearing, not just on this site. The sorryest I am hearing. It is not APBA. That is not an excuse, that is just having drank too much of that coolade. Having raced both APBA & NBRA for the last 50 plus years. Your missing the boat.

So sad.. I guess nothing will change so the good old days are over..No chance of ever getting them back till folks work together..I hate to say it but its like watching congress these days..I am sure the ones that show up will put on a good show and have FUN doing it.. Good luck and keep us posted with pictures thru the weekend..

      I recall

A thread on here not to long ago where several APBA members indicated that if we landed a race with Lucas Oil they would attend. I can find that thread in the history here. I will wait until after the race to call it up.

Art is right, this is not about who has cheaper inurance, who has the most members, who has the best comeptition, who has to wear closed toed shoes, or solid orange helmets.

This race is for you. The boat racer. It is not about all the hoopla, or even the bragging rights to winning. It is certainly not about how much money is being spent to improve the sport, or a racer school. This race is for boat racers.

Stop and think about this for a moment. Like me or hate me, you know I am right about this one. If we can fill the pits with boat racers, Mr Lucas will be impressed. if he is impressed, guess what. Boat racing will be put up to the next level and this will benefit the grass roots racer more than anyone else. The shoestring budget folks will suddenly not have to budget much money, and might be able to go to more races. The better off folks benefit by seeing the sport take off and grow. Let's face it boat racing needs some help. In particular the stock & mod group of kneel down boat racing. our ranks have dwindled to record lows. Here is a chance to get in front of some mainstream media players, professional marketers, and avid bloggers. If they like what they see....

I welcome with open arms ANY APBA or AOF member. Even Crown Racing. Trust me, you will not feel ANY hostility from any NBRA member. We are a pretty good bunch of folks who say howdy and hello depending what side of the Mason/Dixon line you are from.

If you all notice, the name on this up comming race is The Lucas Oil NORTH / SOUTH SHOOTOUT, it doesnt matter which affilation you are with, WE WANT YOU there, this race has been worked on by many people , and many long hours of hard labor, to get it all to come down to the most proffesionally put on race in the last 30 years. This is all our chances to bring back Kneel down outboard racing into the main stream, If all of you cannot see the writing on the wall, then continue to go an your way and have tons of money tied up into race equipment that will hang in your garage being unused. Personally I have to much tied up in this sport to just watch it sit. Many of you have excuses not to come to this, for what ever reason, I personally burnt up my best engine, and tore up another gearbox, last weekend , BUT I WILL BE AT LUCAS, I also know of 3 more with busted up boats last weekend , and guess what ? They will be there also, They Know what this next race at Lucas will do for them July 6/7/8, and what it means for the sport, so yall need to quit ur *****in and come to the most inportant race in the last 30 years. Nuff said
