Just so everyone knows. That website is for the AOF WEST and basically the club of SLORA. The Original AOF is comprised of many clubs and officers from around the country. Executive Director is Carl Staron of Florida. President is Dan Parker of Texas. Vice President is bobby Laws of OHio. Our tech VP is Howard Pickerall of New York. The Original AOF is and has been having races from Louisiana to New York and soon to be in Canada. We have many races in Florida. The original AOF has members from 48 states and two countires and recently signed with BP as a sponsor. Our first BP sponsored race was this spring in Moss Point, MS and was a fun and successful race with a lot of money paid out to those attending.
We honor the AOF West club, but if you are planning a race outside of Washington or Idaho, please let us know as the Original AOF is also alive and kicking and will be having an election and national meeting soon in Bogolusa, Ms. The nationals are scheduled for Pineville, LA on Columbus Day week end and so far the city is giving us a go. Original AOF has over 25 races planned this year in several states and our membership keeps growing.
We enjoy racing with the Western AOF and remain friends. We always wish them the best. Contrary to what you have heard, there is no dissention.
AOF Original honors the past Lifetime members, which of course is the main dissention of AOF West. Most of the Lifetime members of AOF remain active and we thank them for the years of service to our organization. We just celebrated 43 years and shirts were made up and sold for our forthith anniversary along with a big celebration.
So, to end, if you are planning a race in the west, contact Rod Black and SLORA who is the club in the area.
If you are planning a race in the rest of the country or Canada, then please contact one of our 11 clubs nationally or Carl Staron. We can provide the original AOF insurance of 2 million and a sanction fee for as little as $300 dollars for the weekend. Our goal in AOF is to provide affordable racing.
We have also been working with member APBA groups and clubs as well as CBF clubs to again offer joint sanctioned racing for 2013. See you at the races.

No, we just let the WEst Coast handle that. We will probably get a Facebook. You know me Rick. I am lucky to be on here at all.
We figure that we might as well utulize the webs that are already there. Like helping us out bunches is Dan at Hydroracer TV, Ron Hill at Boat Racing Facts, and right here on Hydroracer where we have our own page.

Carl, it's very good to hear that you all are doing well and growing. It is a very positive thing when clubs work together to grow the sport of boat racing.

It would be nice to see some of you come to the AOF nationals in Pineville, LA. Missed you at the Moss Point, MS Spring nationals. BP handed out gas cards to participants based on mileage. You could have made out ok with gas paid to come. Put it on the calendar for next year!

That would make for a fun vacation next year. Just to give me an idea, how much was the "tow money" based on the milage? Pineville is ~2,220mi for me and Moss point is ~2,480mi. That's about 280-300 gallons of gas 1 way. We average about 8mpg with the camper pulling the tailer.
