V-25 is our whole show...What a physical feat to run all these classes, without you it's a backyard affair....

Bailey is racing AH&CSH, I plan to race until I run out of gas or Ralph quits.

Just a heads up;;;We will fuel up on the bank, not in the water. Everyone will have to come out of the water after the first heat to weight and you fuel up on land. Keeping our water as clean as possible.

                    Better directions?

                    Doc,
Do you have better directions to the lake from the hotel in McAlester? Tried 149 Pelican Ave and it directs me to the south of town to a residential neighborhood. I've talk to a couple of others and they are having the same problem. Please help, thanks.

The easiest path to take is to go North on highway 69 to Gene Stipe Blvd, (Electric Avenue) go West on it to N. D Street. Turn right (North), continue North and D street .You are traveling Northwest at this time.Talawanda Heights Street blends into W. Ridge Avenue/Lk McAlester Road. About 3000 ft West on Ridge Avenue, Lk McAlester Road branches off to the right just past where you turned last year to get to the course at the Nationals). Take Lk McAlester Road North To where it intersect Camp Hudgen Road/Lk McAlester Road (E 1378 Rd) proceed East to Lk Shore Drive. Turn left. A little way up that road, the pit are will be on your right. If you continue on, the start line judges stand will be in front of you. The race course is in the extreme Southeast corner on Lk McAlester just West of the dam. Google Maps Lk McAlester and look for the downward pointing arrowhead at the Southeast corner of the lake. That is the pit area. Jack

Gardner are you going to race? The best way is to go north on hy 69 to Electric ave, go west to Lake McAlester road and to Lake shore drive. ck out Google Earth , there is a great map. There will be signs all along the way, thanks to Ray Hundley.

I finally got Google Maps to give me a presentation of the race course location by typing in Spillway Dr and McAlester Lake Rd Mc Alester, OK. It gives a spot just East of the pit location. The pits are to be on the shore just on the West side of that small bay. Look for the long dock protuding into the lake. That's the judges stand. Jack

Last year at the Nationals in McAlester, Gardner spent hours fixing the water pump on the OBRA rescue boat... Maybe you won't have to work this one Gardner...

Thanks Mark, looking forward to being just a spectator this year. My back is still on the mend so limited in what I can do.
