  • Needed - Merc. Clamp Bracket Screw Assy.

    im looking for a set of clamp screws. ive noticed the clamp bracket has a cast #MD 4625 -turns out the merc. Part#1400 - 21A 1. if anybody has a set or knows who i can contact it would be very helpful. Thanks Justin Farrell 88-S

      Nothing wrong with what u have there, unless the threads in the clamp
      are buggered, then u have to heli-coil them.
      Back the two screws all the way out, trim off the damaged ends of the threads so a steel nut, the same thread, will screw on about four turns.
      Then either get some one to MIG it, inside the nut, or gas braze it to the screw. Then use a wrench or socket to torque it onto the transom.
      Much better than the OEM rubber handles, IMHO
