    Resizing Service prop for a friend. What is the prop shaft diameter?

    Here's the pro technical manual. But I don't see anything in there for the prop shaft. Only found that lower unit must be "stock." Whatever that is....

      What size is a service C propshaft? That is a loaded question.

      You really need his lower unit. The shaft in most of these vary a little as they are worn and pitted etc.

      What I have done is take a Dremel tool and very carefully grind a little material off the inside of the hole. Also, clean the prop shaft with some 220 grit paper.

            Nominal 3/4" for the original SpeediTwin l/u. Aftermarket l/u's may vary.

              Thank you for all the replies. The prop currently measures .782 Dia. with a Pin guage.
              So 25/32 must be the nominal shaft size. I'll just open it up another .005
