Huntington, IN - another great weekend of racing. A good number of entries, great weather, and another outstanding job done by Bob Koschka, John Sharp, Steve and Donna Roskowski, Kris Procter, Dave Brill and the whole IOA gang. Thanks one and all and here are a few pics from our water front view.

PS - the last photo is for Rick Wagner, Sr. who built the mystery boat. At least he can see it in the water. I hope you mend quickly and completely.

    Agree 100%

First time to Huntington - and my first reaction was that is a nice pond but where are we racing. But after 2 days of hard deck to deck racing - it is one of my favorite races. Forget top end and your Hinton props. Man (or woman) up and come to a drivers course. Thanks to all of IOA and especially TBall Koschka & John Sharp for all their hard work.

Had a great time and will be back next year!

Thanks to all who attended and great to see new faces. Approx 90 entries on Saturday and 80+ on Sunday. The IOA has locked in the site for next year and hope to see you there

Best story of the weekend was with Eric Vanover. Eric has a follower that has attended the last 20 races of our 26 year span. Her name is Georgia Strauge and she worships Eric and hates anyone who beats him. She has even made Vanover racing shirts which she wears every year. Five years ago the club invited her into the pits to meet Eric and she almost fainted. This year her husband made the comment that Eric can't possibly win three classes in a row and if he did he would cut off his beard. Guess what - Eric was lit this year and won five classes in a row.

Dave has been wearing his beard for twenty years and asked if Eric would start the first round of cutting.

          Great !

I am sorry I missed this race. With the huge crash two weekends ago, it was impossible to get everything back together to back up my SEH (859CCMH) wins from last year. In the process of building a new boat. Dad is still a little sore from the wreck, but will be ready for McAlester.

Great job Eric. See you soon. Huntington is a racers course, no doubt. It is an awesome place to race.

            Huntington results

Eric Van Over was unbeatable in every sense on Saturday. He won all 5 of the classes he entered on Saturday, including some kind of a boat with only one pointed nose, CMR.

The fun part was a longtime Eric fan, made bet that if Eric could win 3 he would shave a beard that would do any of the ZZ Top boys proud, see picture above. Eric did him two better than that and Dave Sprague was a good sport and followed through with the promise of letting Eric cut the beard. Said he was cold all day on Sunday, it was only mid 90's so I could believe that.

            Erin Pittman
            Daniel Koshka
            Brian Cafferelli
            Brian Williams
            Logan Sweeney
            Mike Sweeney
Jack Cambell--3 of the 4 service/racing "Cs" category
Justin Gibson the other Service class

Just a few of the winners for the weekend. Great water, great crowd, great job by all officials, fun weekend.

Thanks for posting the pic of Brian in his new ride. If I keep going with the progress I'm making, I'll be able to spectate at Lakemore. Fortunately my sister lives ten minutes away and I'll be able to have her present to monitor me and let me spend the night. It's hard for me to believe that I had quadruple by-pass surgery last Monday.

                Thanks

Thanks to you all for the kind words. We had a few more entries than we would have guessed. I think it has to do with drivers tending to like the course even though it is short.....it is still a full throttle race course.
Bob has secured the site again for next year. He does all the work prior to the race. I just yell at people during the race.
Hope to see you all next year.

Steve Dunn, Joyce and I are BIG Eric V. fans. Where can we get those fan club shirts? Maybe I'll get us a Super Hero Eric Vanover lunch box to carry his Bud Lite in for him.

Eric, thanks for all you do, not just for your club but for CVRA also.

                  See ya'll soon.

Jerry, just between the two of us, I think Eric cheated. Jack
