    Promotion also needed

In addition to clasess and equipment that makes sense is affordable and easy to purchase, we need a publicity plan and budget. Even if the kinks are ironed out of the classes issue, people need to know about what we do. In the alternative, if truly stock engines and boats that are available for sale new to the general public are raced, there is a good chance that the publicity will come from manufacturers and dealers.

Also, fast wide long drivers courses that are so removed from spectators (should they come to watch) are not good for attracting interest in our sport.

      Stock Outboard Mission Statement

      Stock outboard racing is a form of affordable, amateur, outboard powered boat racing, achieving maximum recognition and reasonable reward for successful competitors. Our objective is to have competitve equipment, commercially available to all competitors on an equal basis, We wish to promote this sport on a national level and support it on a local level, giving safety a foremost consideration. We will achieve this mission by;

*Having a clearly defined set of rules. However, the General Racing Rules shall prevail in all situations not specifically covered in the Stock Outboard Rules.

*Legislating up-to-date safety equipment, requirements, rules and standardized interpretation.

*Having fair, impartial, and trained judges and officials.

*Cooperating with the engine manufactures to meet out mutal goals and needs.

*Effecting a competent inspection procedure and to avoid any unfair advantages.

*Promoting the sport to encourage new competitors to join.

*Promoting responsibility and participation of all members.

      Food for thought!!!!!!

        Safety Rules...

        1. Fins will be on the bottom or all boats. On out rigger fins or sponson fins.
        2. All runabout will have at least an 8" High vertical By 48" long sign board for Boat name and number (s). These side can work as bumpers, if by chance boat came together...
        3. All left hnad to have protection between the throttle and the outside world.

        4. All chines will have a deflector to knock down spray...like Speedway bikes have to knock down flying dirt....

Accidents happen becasue people can't see what is ahead of them.

5...Change the over lap run to two boat lengths.
6... Change ther lane rules for cornering, (Maintain your lane in a corner)...
        7. Pentalize points for being in accidents...
        8. Raise all weights.
        9. Lower all transom heights...to 2" below the bottom.
        10. Run 10 lap heats.

Did I mention NOT to appoint me one of the three CZARS????

As I posted earlier this month:
