and based on baseball schedules, dance recitals, and finding a motor, potentially,

Results will be posted once our scorer gets home and rested.

Tom Sutherland wins 250MH NAC
Eric VanOver wins 750MH NAC
Joe Pater repeats his Race4Kaos win
Robert Lisius gets his first win in ASH on Saturday
9 boat BSR field (can't remember the winners)
Darren Gallagher of NJ and Tom Nuccio of FL are the longest distance travelled winners.
Gary Fox finishes his first race as a rookie, raced 25SSR and CSR both days, showing improvement heat by heat.
Racer School had a club-high 12 participants (5 was APBA/ASIS staff).
Finished racing at 5pm on Sunday with beautiful weather!

Dan,
There were no african american or latino representation in the Racer School. We simply have not had much interest expressed from minorities. Constantine is typically our harder Racer School to fill due to the distance from Metro Detroit (where most of our marketing, promotion is done). We have had some small interest from the minority population after attending the Novi Spring Boating Expo, but not large by any means.

Thanks Elk I am simply just curious no hidden agenda at all. I recently saw a photo on the Drag Boat Facebook page of a young African American kid who had the chance to sit in a Top Fuel drag boat and the smile on his face was priceless :-)

Minority Racers

I wonder if we could put a J rig together and to target minority racers. Besides being a cool thing to do it may open up promotional doors????

I Think you guys out there are doing a great job with the driving class. 7 people other then who worked for APBA? Was it a mix of older and younger people? all you need is a couple from each class to get involved.

I agree it is a cool thing to do. I’m not condoning taking advantage of minotires to gain sponsorship dollars but there is positive side to this approach if done correctly. You will find a number of large and mid size corporations in the market for deals that raise awareness among and demonstrate commitment to African-American and Latino consumers.

Here where I work we had the Ford Foundation donate millions to our African Growth Initiative Program.

Just a thought :-)

The possibilities are endless should APBA decide to explore this avenue and approach. Minorities, female’s etc. watch how fast those TV crews and sponsors show up.

Great picture Dan, that is wonderful! Our age bracket outside of 5 APBA/Insurance folks (early 20's to late 30's) were:
Three in the 9-15 range
One 17 year old (female)
One upper 20's/lower 30's
One 50-60 age range
One 70+ (repeat participant)
