The weekend started out with high winds and the crash boat had engine problems so testing was cancelled halfway thru.. The weather was cloudy but calm Saturday and racing was really close.. I used my 40 motor to see if it was all better and it worked great and I had great starts but the bigger motors motored by with ease..We ended up with three third place finishes.. We had no shear pin problems all weekend!!!! And I must say the two pin turn gets really rough but being out front really helps and the boat just handled it all great especially on Sunday with more power!!
I was tired of that so we did a engine swap Saturday night and put on the Anniversary present motor..Sunday the weather was worse with a lot of rain in the afternoon but calm winds.. With the 44 the boat came alive.. In the first class with more power my timing was off and I was early but was able to motor down all but one boat.. The second two heats were perfect and so with our first win in this class we are hopefully ready for Centralia
I will say it has been a hard and spendy road.. I will feel even better when I get a back up motor that is in the works..It was nice to see 6 E mods for the first race.. And yes they are all laydowns
I must say thanks to Jon Peterson for the power and Sid Bass for the gearfoot that does not break shear pins and has the ratio that my motor likes and George Doi for helping as out pit boss and taking over when everyone used else used up the battery on our starter.. I think some folks in our group like our new starter..
