  • Anyone know what class this boat is......?

First, please forgive me if I am posting in the wrong or inappropriate place. I am the recipient of this boat and am only looking for information to be able to sell it to someone who can appreciate it.

Feel free to make any comments that you can make regarding the class or type of boat this is. I was told the Mercury outboard was a special high performance model by a merc dealer. The year of mfr is 1991.

This boat belonged to a friend of mine who recently passed away.

The photos are at this URL.

(If I need to add additional photos, just let me know what you would like to see.)

Nice rig. Is this a River Racer by STV? Have seen a few and they run well.

      additional chance for information..........

about this boat and the class or classes of racing it may have been legal for might be found by asking the same question with picture over on the "Boat Racing Facts" website. If this is a MOD VP class boat there are many ex-racers of that class that frequent that site and might be able to help you.

ADD: THERE IS AN ACTIVE FORUM ON THE SITE COVERING "MOD VP HISTORY"

        Stv

        Dana,

What do you want for this boat and engine?

I happen to own one like it, so does Mike Quindazzi. I also have a Mirage River Racer and a Baker Stoker. We race these in COR with a 2.0 liter Merc. Your motor is a 2.4 with the old style analog EFI which means not much value.

The boat and motor will probably sell for between 4 and 5 grand, depending on the right pigeon.

          Price of Boat & Motor

Given the excellent shape of the hull, $5000 I would think would be about right. The merc dealer said the new cost of the motor was around $9,000-11,000 without the obvious performance mods.

This will be a great project for someone that wants this type of build.

          What is COR?

Will you post a photo of your boat?

That is an S.T.V. River rocket. I have seen guys drag race them. I always get them confused with the mirage jaguar. If I am not mistaken they are both made in Texas. Cool boat.
Of all the things I've lost I miss my mind the most.
