My season was supposed to start as the first picture shows. And testing was good. It was very good (Thanks, George, it was FAST).... Racing was another story. After the first half lap, my day was done as the second picture shows. My brand new boat is repairable.
Just came from the bone doctor and there is both good news and not so good news. The good news - the vertibrae and discs are good. However, one broken rib. He has sidelined me for Delaware, OH but I'll be there to inspect. If all heals well, should be in a back up boat for Franklin, PA.
I first want to thank Jerry Davids and Eric VanOver for pulling me from the stumps and the snakes, especially the snakes!! Thanks Howie Nichols for making sure all my parts were on the backboard and my toes moved when told to. Special thanks to Alex and AJ Jennings for drying my motor out for the next heat. Too bad there was no boat or driver ready to go. And thanks Austin VanOver and Bugsy for loading my boat on Jerry's truck. Those are the folks I can remember, but I want to say thank you to all who helped us.
And a hello to all who wished me well.
I was proud to be part of the biggest field of 500ccMR (all Mod boats with pipes) I've been a part of. We had 5 of Cliff's kits in the field. And Eric VanOver campaigning a runabout! And a hats off to Steve Dunn who kept this tribe in line. It was a good winternationals.
On the mend,
Jeff
