Keep on old racer in your prayers

hi all,

i just got off the phone with alvin sanger, an old racer from maryland. alvin has stage 4 cancer and has begun treatment today. alvin told me he's going to fight it and will be in it for the marathon not just a 3 lap race. please keep him in your thoughts and prayers. if you have ever met him you know he is a walking wikapedia of all racing in region 4 since the early 50's.

alvin has passed on

hi all,

i received a call from alvin's family yesterday saying he passed away during the night. it was not the cancer that caused his passing, but a blood clot in the lungs. alvin could tell stories of racing in maryland going back to the early 50's and had pictures to back them up. he will be missed. race in peace my friend.

I never had the privilege of meeting Alvin but I can identify with his spirit when he said " I will be in it for the marathon not just a 3 lap race". Best wishes to Alvin and his family.

It is sad to see Alvin Sanger leave this world when i started racing my first boat was his former "RAWHIDE" it was a Big D Swift and there were 3 responsible for getting me in the right direction of racing Alvin,his long time fishing buddy Dominic DiFebo and Willard Knotts may all you guys set up the course up in Heaven because all of us that knew them we were blessed is the best way to put it.
To the whole Sanger family you are in our thoughts and prayers/
