lexan is tough and the best for big shields that need strength. Do not use solvents on them, it turns smokey and ugly...me bad.

Lexan is the brand name for polycarbonate.
I haven't needed any tinted material lately, but I heard rumor that the tinted stuff is getting scarce. Has anybody else experienced this?

                          Tinted stuff

jeff....you are correct. In the past, I have been able to go to a customer of mine and order a 3by6 sheet of lexan tinted for around 100 bucks....he told me a few days ago that the minimum order is now 10 sheets.......don't know why it is a bog deal..maybe the fact that nobody uses the stuff...who knows...dave

                            Dave, think local

Tap Plastics in Bellevue or S. Lake Union has 4 by 8 sheets of Makrolon [brand] polycarbonate for under one hundred dollars.
