  • Introduction to Hydroplanes Video

    Hello All,

Here is a link to MHRA’s Inaugural Quick Tip episode titled ‘Introduction to Hydroplanes’.

    http://youtu.be/BH_XRgzjAMs

It does not take a rocket scientist to see what we are doing here. We are collaborating with the boat racing community to reduce barriers to entry through exposure and education. Please support these grassroots projects by viewing this and follow-on videos and help us to spread this work to your racing and non racing friends alike. If you would like to use this and/or future like material to support some event you’re working on such as a boat show or whatever, just let us know and we will get you a copy.

If you have an idea for an episode and or material that could be used please let us know. If you would like to do the tie-together host commentary bit for one of these episodes let us know that also. Any geographical separation in locations can be overcome with a script, camcorder and knowledge of the basic shoot set up.

Standby for more…the Intro to Runabouts is less than a week from completion and our piece on Propellers is right behind that.

Raymond, awesome job on the video, can't wait to see the rest of the series! How does one get listed in the resource directory do you know?

Thanks for the positive comments. We are glad to do it.

          Mrs. Blueskyracer,

I am not exactly sure. Is MRC not listed? I have not looked that close at the list. I think that there is a tread on the social page just for collecting that kind of information. Not sure how often it is monitored though; I made note of MHRA not being listed in the club directory last week and have not had a response yet so…

                  Great Job.............

Our club (CVRA) used Dana's short video to help promote a brand new 2012 race site in Evans, Ga. We will be hosting the 2012 Southeast Stock/MOD /J Class Divisionals there. The video was a EXCELLENT tool used by race Director Mel Thomas to promote the event!! The motto of the stoty is 'a picture is worth a thousand words'.

Hopefully your promotion videos will continue to raise awareness of our sport and be used to move us in the right direction!!

I would love to see these videos copied and made part of a 'race package presentation' housed at APBA Headquarters and be made available to ALL clubs trying to promote races. I had to make several calls to track down Dana's video for Mel to use in his presentation to the Evans, Georgia group. APBA had none on hand and Dana was kind enough to forward one directly to help us out!

We have a National Headquarters that WE pay for. Seems like we should use it as a central point of contact for all of us to take advantage of to find promotional info on STOCK OUTBOARD RACING. And i am talking about HARD COPY material, not some cyber space on-line stuff!

Thanks for all you guys at MHRA do............

                      Matt,

We agree. Archiving our promotional video content for all to use fits the premise behind the project perfectly. Once our library fills up a bit, I will explore how this process will work and report back with progress.

The Runabout Intro project is done; I think. I am about to do one more proof preview tonight. If I don’t see any problems I intend to export it to a movie format tonight. If that happens early enough I may upload it also.

We have all the video content roughed together for the Propeller project. We are exploring opportunities to put more spice into it and still need to put a background soundtrack to it but…it should be ready by mid to late this month.
