The first year plan passed through committee and will go onto ballot for the racers to determine whether the plan will be implemented for this season. The first year plan includes:
Minimum weight of 396 lb (equivalent of UIM’s 180kg)
Suggested use of jetty starts at local races and jetty starts to be required at divisionals/ nationals.
Future years will include the use of stock gear foot/cylinder head and UIM compliant boat. This will bring the class a lot more inline with the world OSY-400 class. It will also work really well with the spec class that appears to be going forward within the stock category.
If you raced OSY in 2011 please let your opinion be known by responding to the ballot.
