  • Engine height

    Hi everyone,
I've been working on my Tiny Titan and I am using an Evinrude 15 hp fishing motor on it because i dont have the budget for a true racing motor. I was wondering how can I lengthen the transom so that I can have the cavitation plate of the engine right at the water level? Would i use some sort of removable shim?
    Thanks for reading,
    Dan

how much do you need to add ?

The answer depends on how much you need to add to the transom. Usually you can add up wards of 1 inch with shims. Use paint stir sticks from you local hardware / paint store . More than 1 inch usually requires using aluminum plates on each side of the transom with a filler block in between them,( bolting thru the transom to secure the plates).
