George. REAL nice Job. Question. What material did you use to make the fuel tank? I have heard reports that that Polyester resin and or Epoxy will spike the fuel meter.

The tank is 6mm ply wraped in Kevlar I use epoxy from US Composite and it doesnt effect the meter. I have also used West with out a problem. I build them over the winter so they are well cured before any fuel goes in them. I fill them with fuel and let it sit for a few hours then dump about half of it out shake well and dump the rest out then use the fuel in the mower....lol. Havent had chance to make the numbers yet but will be 517-R

George do you coat the inside with just epoxy or kevlar also as much as possible..How long will one of these tanks last?

Mike just epoxy on the inside and the kevlar is just on the outside. The fist one I made lasted two seasons before it started coming apart. The mate to the one in the picture has three seasons on it and it still is fine. I made the joints different on these then I did the first one which makes them stronger.

Thanks George.. I think I might try my hand at this.. I dont like my feet wedged in the back of the boat around a fuel tank..If I could make my own that could fit in a better spot I would feel better.

that is a nice steering wheel. Go Kart? Also I guess that is what they call direct steering?? No tie back. Is that more sensitive?

I get the wheels off of e-bay and are cheaper then the wheels most use but you have to get the adapter from three hole to six holes. The direct steering is quicker and can get away with it on the small engines like A and B as they dont torque as much as the bigger engines. I saved the boat many times from spining out with the quicker steering.
