I always assumed it was cause most of us can't count more than three or four laps
Then why do we let the Sport C's run 5 laps? They are so old they can hardly remember their boat numbers let alone count to more than three. Couldn't resist. I drove a Sport C last summer but I only let a couple of people see me.

IN REGION 11 THEY ALWAYS RUN SPORT C BACK TO BACK. THIS ALWAYS BOTHERED ME, BECAUSE I THOUGHT WHAT IF YOU WANTED TO MAKE A CHANGE BETWEEN HEATS?
After attending several Region 11 races I figured out several things about Sport C racers in Region 11.
One, they love racing. Two, most them have the same emergency brake for their tow vehicle, and that is a cement block. And three, once you get the Sports C's on the lake, you let them race. If they ran only three laps, it would never work, as it takes about that long to get them all to cross the starting line.
My new Dawe Sport C is about ready to "Sail with the tide".....Trouble is, I don't have a cement block for my truck....I guess a REAL emergency brake will have to do...
There goes a chicken....(Not a fly)...
Anyone ever figure out if I can run eliminations heats like I asked?????

I don't see where it says you can't. Better to beg for forgiveness
I have always been an advocate for more seat time for not only new racers, and field fillers, but for everyone. However, with the current number of classes in APBA there is no way possible to pull this off in a weekend if all stock or all Mod classes are there. Example - Dayton Ohio. If there is a decent show of boats, not even a great show of numbers, it is racing from 8:00 AM to just about dark meaning 8:00 or 9:00 P.M.. Fix this issue then tackle more seat time.
