Yes to the min weight vote...I do my homework and garage time...But Im 6.4 -230. Im not fat but not a jocky either... I dont want to put a little person in my rig to win, that defeats the purpose! And anyone that says weight doesn't matter is WRONG!!! And if it doesnt matter why the debate??? So lets put a min weight in and let everyone have a chance to race competitively...Btw I've never weighed my boat so I might have to add weight myself, I highly doubt it but I would. So all you little guys stretch out to get bigger, eat a cheeseburger and relax...Ill help you put your boat on the scale;-} KMB/115-M DMH/DMR.

PS: I dont care how good a motor a guy builds, it still does not overcome a 50lb weight difference!!!!! Lets see these lightweight rigs (less than 450) toss in 50lbs and see what a difference it makes.................IT WILL!! I have data to prove it!!

Its sad but true Thought I had a fast cmr till I weighted It The weight limit is there so there is no advantage or disadvantage Big or small

Well, In the good old days 30lbs over wt was I mile per hr. And big lack coming out of a turn. In C & D and I think that still holds true today. When my son Matt was running CSH and was in the Football program at high school he was about 225 lbs. The CSH went about 465-470 at inspection. He was fast and if got to the first turn first we was hard to beat. However, He really was at a disadvantage coming out of the turn. The OSY rigs would have him for lunch!!! Then I bought him a Bezotz,a 102 and he lost some football wt where he was at 440lbs. The whole racing picture changed for him. The combination was a 2 mile mph gain.
Now in DMR,FER 30+ lbs may help a driver keep the boat on the water. A Big mistake would be to combine those loose CSR's into a CMR.

But first an observation... Some have must never driven a race boat... weight makes no difference LOL.

Over the years hundreds if not thousands of racing enthusiast have had a relationship with the Mercury Outboards. But, as time went on the motors went out of production and the Owner/Builder/Drivers aged and interest in the class wained.,

Then through what I must call clever planing the weight was eliminated as to spark new interest in the class. It worked, and some with the knowledge and resources were reinvigorated and new equipment appeared.



So I guess it's about how you see the class, as an Owner/Driver class or an Owner and Driver class



One last question,If a boat has an Owner and a Driver is that two votes for one boat?.

New guy, new boat, welcome to one of the fastest runabout classes in mod. I hope you get all your issues worked out. Once you do you will be one of the fastest boats at the race. Gee whiz I don't think I could drill enough holes in my boat to come close to your 70 lbs under weight. I hope with some experience you'll realize the throttle does go both ways

I will setup your boat, but it will cost you 70 lbs. Then.... it will be no problem.

My 200mh driver adds 43 lbs to her rig...get over the weight issue.

How do you know you were the lightest???? Did anyone take my challenge and weigh them so you can speak from knowledge not preference or prejudice. So your comp weight was 420?

The boat in your avitar would make a 490 weight without you in the boat. This is why you have no friends while you pack the red 52s. Lol. My arms are 2 inches longer from helping you at Huntington.

George told me the reason the weights were removed years ago was in a big part due to people breaking their backs lifting these beasts on and off the scales...........guess all of a sudden peoples backs are feelin good again and folks need the exercise?? Makes one wonder!

yup we weighed them all, so i AM speaking from knowledge , so easy on the comments!!!!!! again, only hard work, proper set-up , and time in the boat will get me to the front.

Yea had a good ride.............Bungy Bob and i swapped heats and he beat me on time!! I ran George Luces CMR at Jesup a couple years back and the D is a much faster and better ride. I really like the throttle response and the way they slow down on a dime with the 4 blade props!!...........Maybe next time Bob will give me the good stuff to run! Lol.

Yea i sold our Merc 15 to Bunker and Marlee Hill. My spare powerhead went to Gary Pond and was used by Billy Simmons to win the Nationals this year at Wakefield!! I am sure Stillwill can get you a powerhead flying without any trouble but i doubt the last thing he wants in his trailer is a 750cc Merc as part of a trade!! I think 3 AX Motors add up to one of those beasts!!

wate or no wait or weight??

went thru most of these same arguments for or against last year. i will be making the same proposal for a weight again this year[others in favor of the rule need to do the same] simply cause its what i believe. only 16[i believe] voted on the proposal that was sent out by the mod pres. chatter on this site will not get it done.

Let's get a min weight proposal again and this time please take the time to vote. Weight does matter HELLO? Let's get the field a little more even---and for the small guys/gals they will agree in the long run even if us big guys have the best motor/setup, etc., they have the advantage. You have to vote!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
