I want to extend my thanx to my boat racing family after my dad passed away this morning...it was not expected.....Dad like a lot of people in Seattle, grew to love boat racing when the Slo Mos dominated the sport....some of my earliest memories were of him taking me down to Seafair to watch the races in the 60s....Dad was friends with Bill Brow, the worlds fastest milkman, who was killed in Tampa driving the Miss Budweiser...dad also made sure we went to the annual Slough race.....When I used my college tuition money to buy my first hydroplane, my mom was furious...my dad said he was, but you could tell he thought it was pretty darn cool that I was actually going to race. My parents went to every local race they could to encourage me on....and when my mom passed on he made it to a few races...but his heart was just not into it....I would let him know what race I was going to, and he made dang sure that I brought him any trophy I won that weekend.....whether it was a 1st or a 5th, he was proud of me. He was a wonderful father to me, and the best friend I have ever had....I love you dad, and thank you to my boat racing friends for offers of help and support...you are the best family a person could ask for. Dave

Sorry for your loss. I lost my dad in February so I can relate. Know that as difficult as this is, there will be better days ahead. Condolences to you and your family."In my many years I have come to a conclusion that one useless man is a shame, two is a law firm and three or more is a congress". -- John Adams
