  • itunes and the propeller?

How about geting the Propeller in the new newstand of I-tunes?

We give it away for free and I will read just about any magazine for free on my ipad!

I do not have the talent to do this but here is a great way to push our sport.

Who can make this happen? Crown? There are only about 20 magazines even offered now in the newstand. Imagine the exposure!!!!!!

    Content

    Brian,

The magazine would need a much better content than is does currently to make it on the newstands. While the magazine is GREAT for the racers, it would do very little for the general public.

I would offer you to work on getting the organization into one of the most current magazines that is already established and on newstands. Maybe a section of 10 pages that could be dedicated to the sport. The problem with that is, someone has to do the writing, professionally. Who is going to do that ?

      Dave,
He's not talking about actually putting it on the newstands. I think putting it on iTunes would be great exposure for Propeller and much more cost efficient. With the majority of the population owning smart phones, iPhones, etc, access to Propeller through an application, podcast, or digital magazine would make it much more accessible and convenient to racers, sponsors, and fans. With just a few taps, Propeller could be brought up instantly for whatever reason. Also, monthly production of Propeller could continue if we chose to pursue digital copies because of cut costs on paper, shipment, etc. while still continuing four printed issues a year for those who like the "old school" version. Just some thoughts...

        Apps

Would be nice if they could get someone to write an iPhone App and a Android App for APBA.

Spot on Dave, your response is in line with my recent reply to Nick on the thread I started stating how the Crown Partners money should have been spent.

All of these ideas are great ones and are being done on a daily basis by associations and companies that have the tools in place to do this. The APBA has nothing in place to even begin this type of process. There is no PR department, no IT staff. No developers or marketing department. No video production department or communications dept.

The association is light years behind when it comes to the digital age.

            Hence why they hired Crown....

Also i liked Amy's idea of getting an APBA app! This could make the communication lapse between the members and APBA much more efficient. Hell H1 has an app and you can listen to broadcasts of unlimited races through your iphone!
