That first picture is me trying to get Billy Simmons attention on the way to the first turn as he blew past me. I even waved right after this snapshot to no avail...

You should have come along Bill. It was even better in person.

I bought the large version of #105 from Peirce at the site. Way too good to pass up.

          The Master

F P-Dub's work is awesome. Every time I think I'm getting better, I go look at his stuff to get myself humbled.

I was fortunate enough to spend a couple days at Depue this year shooting by him. We talked, I asked questions, and he gave me some suggestions and ideas that I used at Wakefield successfully.

I flew home from Wakefield to hit the Seattle unlimited race, and one of the first person I ran into was Peirce. Again, we shot a couple of heats together.

Finally, the following Tueday, I'm sitting in the Doctor's office...picked up a copy of Road and Track, and the page falls open to a two-page spread of Daytona by FPW. I want his job!

I don't know if profound is the right word but there is way more in that picture than a great CSH battle. How many Nationals titles between those three? D3 is a third generation racer with about 100 immediate and extended family members who have raced. Dean and Mark are at least 2nd generation drivers both with multiple family members who have raced or are currently racing. Would be interesting to figure out how many total years of experience there is among the three and the rest of their families.

And to top it all off the pic was taken at the famed Dayton Hydro Bowl. Priceless.

PS - glad to see Dean is feeling better.
