I must say we tell folks our biggest regret about moving to Montana was that we did not do it sooner.. It tell everyone that comes to watch out for the deer. Road kill is big over here..

With that being said I have to say we had some close racing but the race of the day was between the 20R,15U and the 97R. They were side by side rubbing for the whole three laps till the last turn when Brian was taken out of the duel due to a pleasure boat wake but it was a matter of inches between the 15U and 20R.. The crowd was going wild and as you can see in the corner boat they were into it to..One for the ages!!

I am glad my daughter got a chance to show what she could do. Do to the paper article the local fans also knew that any boat with a "U" on it was a local boat.

One last thing for those interested the official temperature for Saturday was a reading of 103..That must be why we had some smoking hot racing

We should mention that we always do a new folks in boats program and we had the biggest bunch for that that we have had at least in the last two years that I am aware of. Six people decided to give it a whirl, including our two EMT's from Sunday. (Don't worry we had an alternate crew on hand!) I guess they figured it couldn't be too tough if they hadn't treated any injuries all weekend.

Welcome to hydroracer, we hope you enjoy your visit.

I don't think it was used in the Y80 class. I had Kevin put it on just before Y102. I'll keep you posted on how it works on the 302

As of now it would only cost you a new boat

Nice video, looks like 2 and 3rd place were hanging back on the turns so when the big guy leader was thrown out they wouldnt ding their props or dent their wood... At least that's what it appears to be....dont want to speculate too much though...

We would love to see you all there. The state park at Perrigyn has lots of sites with hookups, and bathrooms with showers. Dont forget the potluck dinner on saturday night.

                              A Wonderful Experience

Bonnie and I had a great time. We were really impressed with the town and the Montana scenery. I fished in southwest Montana down near Hamilton as a boy, but I had never traveled to the Trout Creek area until last weekend.

The AOF and Show awards are stunning, and I am honored to race with such great people! Thank you so much for all of the hospitality and kindness! SLORA racers are very generous and helpful in launching PRO hydros. My favorite SLORA/AOF photos in the past are not of me running, but of the variety of a bunch of kind and considerate people helping me get off of the beach during every race -- what professional pride you all have in making boat racing a fun and a memorable event.

It was also great to stand on the beach and watch the big grins coming from the faces of the "new folks in boats" rides -- especially that 80-year old guy who drove a hydro for the first time! I hope we left a good impression with them.

A heart-felt "Thank You" to all of the people of Western Montana & Eastern Washington for making us feel at home and welcome at Trout Creek and past SLORA events. We will be back!

God Bless Y'all & Best Regards Always,
                              Al & Bonnie Peffley

BTW - The motor malfunction on the last heat on Sunday was a broken drive shaft lower coupler! It broke into three pieces and jammed the gearbox foot shaft. The gear box and gear shaft end seem to be OK. I am checking the powerhead out next for any associated motor issues due to the broken coupler.

That 80 year young guy we call Pappa Shober had so much fun he wants to sponsor our team next year..Did you know he still drives a tow truck..He owns a big towing service out of St Regis Montana so if you have troubles in that area give them a call and tell them you are boat racers..
