  • Region 6,(or7) racers to Haverhill?

I am trying to make it to Haverhill for the marathon. A rather lackluster summer, (for work) this year is gonna make it tough to do. Is anyone interested in going along. I've got a spot on a two boat trailer, and if a small boat is added, it could go on top of my truck.
If there is anyone interested, lets hear about it. SSOA really runs a great race, and the second longest marathon in the country. Anyone? Mark Kurz

Mark since the race has been postponed due to hurrican Irene. I may be able to ride along with you. I really want to make the race. The story's you tell about the crowds and people are great. I see it's been postponed for the weekend of Oct. 2&3. I will follo up with you to let you know for sure! -195M

October 1 and 2, and now you're talking. Heard from Dave Umbarger as well. Let's put some 'M' in Haverhill. C57M

            Haverhill Marathon

Rumor has it that there are two and possibly three groups coming from regions 6 & 7!

The hurricane delay may have been a blessing in disguise for this event by spacing it away from the Top O'.

Can somebody point me toward a map of the marathon course?

And any other info you can provide would be appreciated.

            Thanks!

              Hay Vrill info For Jeff

              Jeff
You can go to Google Earth , punch in Crescent Yacht Club, Haverhill, Ma. Then you can zoom in and check out the club and pits.
Marathon starts from the beach turns right and turns left at the 2nd turn of the closed course.

              Hope this helps
              Pete

6 laps of a 4.71 mile course. Watch for the Victorias Secret model in a thong on the second bridge, she'll be scoring yu.

Second Longest Marathon in the Nation?!?!? Hadn't even thought of that one.
                      Few More Points to Ponder:
+It could be that there has never been an “H” hull in Haverhill.
                      Be the first!

+An “M” has represented at every Haverhill regatta this century.
                      Keep the streak alive!

+Rollers from sections B, J, M, & N have taken flatturners to school in the Merrimack Oval. Marathon + Circle-Track + One Rig makes cents. Hydros Too!

+C57M needs a co-pilot to handle his Easy Pass (Don't Make the Guy Hitchhike!).

+Haverhill is a standalone bucket item, but marathoners take special note that only one driver, worldwide, has competed in every APBA marathon offered this decade (at least once per site)! Get in the hunt to get it done.

+No matter your region, Haverhill is still closer than Ecuador.

+Canada and Ohio linguists will be available to assist with language barriers.

Have no regrets, and, as they seem to say in the important parts of Northern Michigan, “Bring It!”

Hope to C-U on the Haverhill River Run - Official Roll Call Thread
                      https://hydroracer.net/forums/showthr...threadid=22130
With the offers on the table, and the facts shown for all to see, who wouldn't be just 'frothin' to get in on the fun to be had at Haverhill!
I hope it's not all talk, but interest is up this year. Being that only one region 6 racer.. a lone wolf, perhaps, has made the trek east in defense of all things marathon, this is a worthy development.
Is it true that Jeff Yungen will run a flat turn Tahatsu? When I told him there was DSR, I swear he was a little dribbly! That's all.

THIS IS GOING TO BE GREAT!

Thank you to all who have helped me out with information.
                          Mark, Pete, Steve, Alex.
My registration packet is on it's way to me.

I plan to sleep in my van, unless I get three or more guys going with me. Then I'll check into a hotel for Saturday only. I noticed the hotel listed on the sanction is the Comfort Suite. I checked their rates, and the website states they have a two night minimum starting on Oct 1! Has anyone else encountered this? Is there a contact person who can negotiate (or already has) with the hotel?
                          Thanks!

Matt, that is truly exciting news. I think Billy Jr. might be just old enough for the 'orange crush' in the marathon. As for the cod dinner, like I told you, it's cod-fish, and I believe it was offered up in the proximity of your head, not sure about dinner.
