  • Snowmobile Weekend In Michigan

Ok you guys here are the dates. Feburary 10,11,12,13. This is Thursday thru Sunday. The name of the Hotel we all stay at is North Shore Lodge. There # is 1-906-494-2361. The rate for a double is $76 plus tax. Now you can come for as many days as you can stand. Most will arrive on Thursday night and we ride hard on Friday. Saturday the traffic picks up and we go a little easier. If you want to ride Sunday that cool to. Most the Wisconsin guys pack up and head home on Sunday or even Saturday night. Last year we had 30 boat racers and boy did we have fun. I encourage all you New Yorkers or any other out of staters to come on up and join us. Make your reservation right now as this town has just a few hotels. They also rent sleds in this town so don't be shy becouse you don't own a sled. I think for about a hundred a day they will set you up. Your Tour directors will be the Famous Jim Fox, Flying Don Hageral, or the Hole Shot Howards. We have had the Torrente's join us in past years and if you thought Shaun drove is 120 a little wild you should see him on a 800 MZX ski doo. We also love the boys from Wisconsin. Reving Spud Hemp, Kris Cross Kargus, Zig Zagging Zolkowski, And I here we might even get a visit from Mr 1000 Rodes. We will also see some of those Michigan boys to. Team Arctic Ross & Butterfield sporting those T Kitty's, Keep it on the trail Sutherland, Kevin Ladd in a new REV, and I'm sure I am missing a bunch. BEE THERE OR BE SQUARE !!!!!!!! Mike Ross Call me at work if you need more details 1-810-953-4622

This place we go is in the Upper Peninsula. It is around 3 more hours noth of Gaylord. Yes Spikes is still there in Grayling. This by far the nicest place to ride. We rode the beach of Lake Superior for around 15 miles right out to the lighthouse at Paradise. Jeff Howard has a cabin a few miles through the woods we went to. I would say at this time of the year they will have around 5 ft of snow. The drift at our hotel was right up to the roof of the 1 story section we stayed in. Ask Dean how much fun it is to get your sled out if you go off the trail. He is now an expert on unburying a 500 lb play toy. Soft landing but alot of work to get back on the trail. Anyway I hope we have a huge turn out this year. I LOVE THE SMELL OF 2 STROKE OIL Mike

          Sledding

Rumor has it those Wisconsin boys got some new toys for this winter. Must've put a smile on the Ski doo dealer's face. Where exactly in the UP is this trip? Sounds like a good time.

Grand Marais. This is right on the lake Superior shore and we ride the pictured rocks national park. We ride toward Paradise which is east and ride west to Seney or Munising.

              Sweet

A group of us sledded up in Paradise a couple of years ago. We drove about 6 hours I think to get there. The amount of snow was unreal. There was no snow until we got about an hour and a half away from where we were staying. It was weird. There was none and then all of a sudden there was at least 2 feet. The only bad thing was that being that this was the case, everyone and their brother was up there. It looked like you were at a Nascar race with all of the haulers and trailers. A great time, though.

If you guys stay at the Voyager Hotel, they have a nice hot tub area to party in. The old owner used to give us the key and we would lock up when done that night. Spectacular views from your room of the Lake to. The one hotel on the shore, Elversons I think it is, avoid it. Grand Marrais is a nice place to be, right smack dab in the middle of everything. With the New Rev's you could ride the whole U.P. in a day as smooth a ride as they are !!

Gawd I wish I still had my sleds..... to much fun snowmobiling....

I looked to see if I could find that Hotel and I don't see it listed anywhere. Do you have there #. You can rent a sled and still get to come and play. Or find a friend and borrow a sled. Let me know if you have a #. Mike

I was in the UP over the last week and they had a little snow. How about those Wisconsin guys. How many are planning on coming. Hay you New York guys have been bragging about those Fire Cats. I neesd some more Team Arctic to come run up front with the 1000cc Thunder Cats. I'm sick of having to throw ice chips on them Ski Doo's. Maybe someone will bring that new black 1000 Rev. Can't wait to ride. Mike

Just wanted to refresh this post. This weekend is coming up soon. If you need to get out of the house this is your chance. I have heard that we are going to have some new faces up this year. I got my thundercat ready to go. We went to Lake St Clair last weekend and did some freindly drag racing. Looks like we still have an edge on those 1000 revs. Ran a few that were all studded up and me and Butterfield gave them a lesson. I did get to drive Kevin Ladds 600 rev in the UP a couple weeks ago and was very impressed on how they handled in the trail. Anyway if you need info go to the first post. If they are sold out call me and we will make sure you have a place tp put your head down. Last year I think i had 6 or 7 in my room. Mike
