Can anyone give us a report on the water conditions in DePue? Last time the trailer was only half way there when we got the call that it was cancelled.
The lake is up pretty high n will probably go up a lil more do to all the rain we've been getting. As far as debris goes there's alot of it floating around
I refer you to MRC and their leadership for making that call. Bill or Paul would be the one to be in contact with. If you need, I can supply you with their contact info. Otherwise see you in DePue!
River (lake) is supposed to crest tomorrow into Friday. Weather looks very good for the weekend as does the wind direction. I will be getting another update from DePue later today, but as of right now the race is on. The ground is soft so we will pit in the street against the curb along the park. Please keep the far lane of road open as a fire lane.
I am sure I'm not telling you something you don't already know but the earliest we can find out is important. For us long-haulers it would be tough to spend the $600 or so on gas to get there and not be able to run. I completely appreciate the position you are in on this but as of now I am leaning toward not taking the risk on coming even though I love racing at DePue each year. mike 67G
I know Mike, believe me, I know. I do not want to waste anyone's time or money. I am watching the weather and the river level constantly and so far we are still a go.
The high water at least keeps us out of the mud and it's a shorter push up to the nice grass in the park. A lot of debris has washed up on shore. It's windy so I can't really tell how much is still floating out there. It doesn't look bad however and the wind should be sweeping the coarse clean (I hope!!!). Maybe I'll try to test a little tomorrow and hit it all so everyone else won't have to.
