Beaverton, Mi. looks like it's on the over side of the world...What's the GPS address for the nearest place to the race site? I have Delena's restauant at 113 W. Brown st., Beaverton, Mi. Has anyone from Oklahoma ever been to Beaverton? Certainly, no boat racer from these parts has ever venture to those parts. Not as far as California, but darn near it...Serious number of yellow lines between here and there..

OK With serious regrets I must let everyone know that I will not be able to attend Beaverton this year. Between a vacation and work it just is not going to happen.

I you are on the fence on going to this race and have never been there PLEASE GO!!!

Beaverton is truly a unique race and racing environment. Only at Beaverton can you have the time of your life watching the locals and US hanging with them!!!

Here are some of my finest memories.

Watching an newly wed couple water ski behind a 1960's (in there wedding cloths) Chevy 454 ski boat after exiting the LIMO mini van with a beer in hand.

Sitting in the parking lot watching someone lighting fire works just inches away from a gas tank.

Ridding in a pontoon boat with Vanover and Robb (others were there) going about 10 MPH. Just then a few individuals decided to walk to the bow of the boat and start SUBBING the RENTED boat (on accident). The driver (can not recall name) thought more power might plane out the rig, but instead just drove the bow about 3 feet underwater. NO WORRIES the boat stopped and bobbed like a cork and all were fine.

LAST BUT NOT LEAST. How could I ever forget Bobby Laws Beaverton beauty queen pageant.

Please go to this race, put on a good show and lets make this a top race for the IOA.

RACE SAFE I wish I was there!!!

        Doc,
Find somewhere to drop the trailer and if you have never been to Mackinac Island it well worth the trip. I got more than a few atta boys for that trip with the Misses.

We also went on up to Sault Ste Marie and went to the lock and dam that brings ships out of Lake Superior or into. Facinating to see such large ships in an up close enviorement.

        Good luck at both races!

        Ray

No need to order a Rossetta stone cd they speak English in Beaverton.

It is North though... I use this tool to make sure I do not go too far north into Canada.
