Well we had enough of the large mod boats for a class on Saturday. It sucks that there were other races relatively close to each other this past week-end but despite that fact the Waterford race was a success.

With 2 full days of racing and most classes averaging 6 boats or more and the last heat of racing ending at 2:50pm on Sunday... you can't ask for much more.

A big thanks go out to Jordan Elliot, Jorn Knox, Jim Misener, Jane Howard, and Heather Knox for donating a great deal of their time during the week-end in major volunteer roles. This is not to take away from those who donated more than their fair share of time in volunteer roles because without everyone else racing would not happen in our sport.

Great racing, great people, and the band, it seemed like pretty much everyone that I encountered enjoyed the week-end. Hope to see everyone at this race next year and our future events in Canada.

I believe it was 65 entries on Saturday. And we easily had 10-15 Canadian entries who could not make it due to kids/families having exams Friday or Monday or just other obligations and unfortunately during testing on friday lost a few due to engine problems.

I believe there was two USA drivers in attendance. Brian Rossman and Hunter Grimes.

There was 3 new drivers who had never raced before (CSR, 25SSH, T850) and some others who had returned to racing after multi year absenses (like Steve Huff above). Several brand new outfits on the beach. More new people are expected at our next race in Gravenhurst on June 25-26 sponsored by Tim Hornton's.

Everyone raced safe and no incidences all weekend.

Thanks to everone who made this possible. Many people are putting in great ammounts of hard work to grow this sport up here and it is working.

I think these are all the classes run at Waterford:
              ASR
              CSR
              T750/T850
              AXSH
              ASH
              BSH/BCH
              CSH
              DSH/DCH
              FEH/DMH
              OSY400
              20SSH
              25SSH

Darcy unfortunately had some motor and getting on plane issues. Even an experianced driver had VERY hard time getting on plane with it, and they ended up racing it for him as Darcy could not do it. Sunday they tried a different motor and I didn't see the result of getting on plane, but it raced and contacted another boat in one of the turns. Just a little scuff on the boat. Demagnitized now though hopefully

Looking at the points... Sat, driver DQ'd, not sure why, Sunday driver got 1st.

It was one nice piece of woodworking though Rick! You should be proud.

Nice Andrew , you should post all races like this.It really gives a better picture of what went on instead of just the boats that placed. See you at Gravenhurst.
