  • DSH skid fin

I hit a log and tore off my skid fin Saturday afternoon at Newburg....I was going somewhere around 75 MPH.....and did no damage to either the bracket or the sponson transom. ( I did lose a blade on my prop) The reason no real damage was done is that I used a grade 8 bolt to attach the fin to the bracket....and instead of bending and tearing stuff up it just sheared. Might be something for racers to think about if they run in water with the possibility of debris in it. David.

    Forgot something

Forgot to ad something in my post....I had no idea that a grade 8 bolt would shear off.....I just thought it was a good idea to use it. David
