As those of you who came to the Top O this year know we had a "race within a race" for those who ran a 55H in D. We would like to know if there are any of you out there who would like to do that again. After reading some of the posts on hydroracer it sounds like there may be some interest for such an event. How 'bout it? Are any of you marathon drivers out there interested?

55 h at Marathon nationals
Thanks for reply. I used to race DSR around Midwest in 60's and 70's, mostly closed course but did race Marathon on Winnebago once.Had heard of your race often but never got to N. Michigan to give it a try. I am now building exact replica of my 13'6" DSR 1969 Stippich Quack nose Floater from original plans I got from Carls daughter. I also have borrowed Tim Webers grandfather, Bill Luetners old 45 W which I repaired and straightened out, strenghened, ect which I am using to break in 55 H Jerry Wienandt built for me. Either used to run rough water well.
I wonder if you have copies of last years entry forms, maps of course, is it marked or do you have to run it once like Old Winnebagoland to know where your'e going, normal water conditions and local info, ect, ect. so I know what I'm getting into.Any thing you could share would be much appreciated. Jon...give me your mail address and I'll send you a copy of the last program...or you can call me at 231 536 3144 or 954 547 1659. I'd love to tell you all about the race. Also, you can go to the APBA web site and go to links and I believe you will find one for the Top O Michigan Outboard Racing Club. You should be able to get info there. Just take the text with a grain if salt...I don't know who wrote it but they took some liberties the truth, ie the speed of a DSR etc. If you can get here a day or two early you can rent or borrow a boat to run portions of the course but when I did my first one I was able to decypher the route pretty well. We would sure like to have you come up here to race.
